Director, Preschool Teacher
I am originally from the great state of Wisconsin but have moved around quite a bit in my lifetime. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, in 2014, I moved to Columbia, TN, where I served as a preschool and child care director for five years. In May of 2019 I accepted the position of director here at Little Lambs and have been humbled and grateful to continue my work with little ones and their families. In addition to my role as preschool director, I also have the privilege to serve as St. Peter’s Sunday School coordinator and 5th & 6th grade Catechism teacher. In November of 2019, I had the joy of marrying my best friend and office mate, Dan, who serves as the Staff Minister here at St. Peter.
I am passionate about providing high-quality, research-based care and education to little ones in a safe, warm, and Christ-centered environment so that they leave our program equipped for success and confident in their vocations as students, citizens, and children of God. In order to better reach this goal, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in the administration of early childhood programs. In my free time I simply enjoy spending time with family and friends and adventuring with my husband!
“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
I was born and raised in the tiny town of Brillion, WI, but moved to Gainesville, FL just before beginning high school. After high school I attended school at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, where I graduated with a degree in early childhood education. I put my degree to use by joining my sister Emily (see above 😊) in TN and working as a preschool teacher for two years before moving with her out here to CO in 2019. I have been very blessed to continue working with preschool children here at Little Lambs, and am excited to educate and share God’s Word with little ones! In my free time I enjoy teaching myself ukulele and piano and exploring Colorado!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Assistant Preschool Teacher
I grew up in Wisconsin on a dairy farm. I married Pastor Spaude in 1988. We then spent 11 years in Zambia and Malawi, Africa. I was busy taking care of our 4 children while Pastor did his missionary work. We have 4 grown children: Ashley, Amber, Austin, and Aaron. We have two granddaughters, Rachel and Naomi. The past 16 years I have worked in Home Health caring for the elderly. I love to sew, spend time with my family, and enjoy Colorado by hiking and camping. I joined the preschool staff in August 2018. I really enjoy serving the Little Lambs we have here at St. Peter!
“Forgive us, Lord, when we forget your gifts to share, your Word to spread to those who ache and bleed. Renew our will to help the weak, to feed the hungry, and to speak your Word to souls in need.” CWS 785 v. 4
I was born and raised here in Colorful Colorado. After high school I followed in my family’s footsteps and became a Cosmetologist, but I learned quickly that just because you are good at something doesn’t mean it will fulfill you. My husband, Marc, and I married in 2014 and with that marriage came my two beautiful “bonus” children, Reganne & Kylie. My son, Kash, rounded out our family in 2015 and I have been blessed to be able to stay home with them for the last 5 years. Kash will be attending his second year at Little Lambs in Ms. Carries room.
I wasn’t baptized into the faith until 2012, but my husband was born & raised in the Lutheran church. Marc actually attended school right here, at Little Lambs, until the 8th grade.
This will be my first year as an aide with the preschool as well as my first year as a Sunday School teacher at St. Peter. I feel blessed by the opportunity to help these littles grow in their knowledge and nothing could be more fulfilling than a front row seat watching these little children of God as they build a solid Christ-centered foundation here within the same walls that my husband did so many years ago.
